ATTENDEES

All staff members to include teachers, support staff who work directly with or supervise students and administrators will attend the applicable inservice opportunities.

BUDGET

No additional budget is needed to be allotted for these opportunities. The special education staff will use currently accessible resources and will plan the sessions during their weekly meetings before school.

PREREQUISITE SKILLS

The prerequisite skills needed to attend these meetings are to be an employee of District 140 or a guest thereof. Knowing basic word processing skills and concepts of Google Drive is helpful, but not necessary as there are many staff members who are adept and willing to coach new staff members through the process as we go on through the year. The final prerequisite skills needed are to have an open mind, not have preconceived notions, come to the inservices ready to learn and do something new, and be willing to actively participate and ask questions.

REQUIRED READINGS

Due to the nature of the professional development, there are no required readings, however there will be links posted on the wiki to articles that will be relevant, to websites that address each specific topics and to YouTube videos.

HANDOUTS

Due to the confidentiality of our students, we can not post any handouts here because they would have PII, you will be given the handouts you need in a binder which you must keep locked away when not in use.

CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION

The evaluation of the outcomes of this inservice group will be ongoing. Each month, a new topic will be taught, but as always, we will be available for consultation. The real evaluation is seeing the new, modified assignments and tests that our students will work on. We will see in classroom observations the changes they have made since learning the new topics.

*This set of inservice opportunities, at this time, applies only to EHS, however many things can be easily translated to other schools in the district.

After each session, the staff will fill out a Google Form to evaluate our presentation and give us suggestions for improvement and topics to discuss further.

CREDIT/COMPENSATION

There will be no financial compensation given, however there will be CPDUs available from the district along with a formal, paper survey form.
